Headache

So two or three days ago, I asked a close friend of mine, "what else do you think I should add to my portfolio?". He answered, "heads". So I did about 20 different heads that night and the next day I cleaned them up in Photoshop. Then I asked, "what now?" And he said, "no! do the heads like THIS! (directs me to joshclub's site) and do lots of characters." So I said ok, and did 7 more heads and...I think 15 character designs. And now, I'm just sitting here with a headache (no pun intended...well. Yeah, sort of intended. OK FINE! It was all setup!! But the story is TRUTH!)

I realized my treegirl painting had the exact same palette as my Batgrrl, neither of which I planned out beforehand. So I started a random thing on purpose with a set palette. Of course when I'm done, chances are, it'll end up purple and yellow too. har.

Working on a spot illo for my site redesign. The frontman of the piece was originally going to have no shirt, but after spending a week in SoCal with Ed and Kevin, I was afraid that having a topless man might further the suspicions of me being HOMOSEXUAL. But I didn't want the torso to go to waste, so here's a somewhat incomplete torso and stuff.

Oh. And my week in SoCal was awesome. Aside from Kevin making me and Ed go out for everydamned meal, I really enjoyed hanging out with my buddies and stuff.

I felt like coloring tonight!!

It's been a crazy last couple of weeks at work... sorry for neglecting "the Peng"

Here's a bit of a WIP on a sketch i was working on a little bit ago. i just got kinda antsy and started throwing in some value quickstyle underneath it. The composition still needs a lot of work, but i'm kinda happy with the direction it's going. i need to work on the readability of it, and the drama though... ahh well. I'm looking forward to going back and cleaning up the lines, and detailing in the restaurant... never drawn one of those before. I hope to update it soon-like. Sorry it's not something cooler.
