I was so grabbed by Phil Hoeft's sketch dumps on deviantart (http://philhoeft.deviantart.com) recently that I had a go at finishing one of the drawings. I appreciate now how much that dude can draw his ass off.

foolery of the zbrush matter

Was messing around with Zbrush today for the first time today and came out with this.
It's pretty fun to use and so far I think understand the very general/basic crap. But after I saved the file and opened it back up, I all of a sudden can't edit/transform the image. It is just a static image now. Can anyone help me out with this?

Hello boys and girls! I was inspired by LeSean this week. Paradoxically, I have come out of it with a study of a very static and super-rendered man. The super rendering went pretty super I think, but the poor man's midsection has sort of collapsed in on itself and gone all stodgey, and is all out of place at the back.

I went with my mum to the Gallery of NSW the other day, it's a wonderful place. They have original Rubens' and Raphaels, and the work of a man named Lord Frederic Leighton. Simply amazing, and it reminded me that all one has to do to be studio mates with these guys is to go there, witness for a few hours, and go home and pick up a pencil. I find myself comparing the line I'm drawing to the ones I saw hours before, and that can only be a really, really good thing.

P.S. Noone told me Michaelangelo was so mean to Leonardo DaVinci. I could smack that guy.

Originally this was gonna be a Gears of War fanart..but then it became something else (but there's no denying that's there's still some Gears of War motifs in here). :-p I hate the design, and I'm not too big on making large characters, but what the hey! It's supposedly a good thing to mess around with your comfort zone :p Another thing about this image is that I started it without any greyscale foundation (which is what I've been starting all my images with for the past year or so). So excuse the shoddiness. I'll go back to my greyscale->color mode asap!

its about a group of fine young men cat calling some women when things go terribly wrong after they insult the wrong women (not whole story shown). if you can make out whats going on and my hidden egytian text your a star. the story is based on true events! but the people and places were switched :)

Trying to touch pencil to paper every day. Drawing well is such bloody hard work isn't it?? When I have an on day I feel like I could almost draw a comic - on my off day's I'm so spectacularly off I couldn't draw a proper table. I wonder how people manage it at all.

Been a long long time since I've inked anything. and this doesn't count, it's not even with real brushes. =( I've been spending the past month doing almost nothing but digital painting, and while I've learned a lot, I'm totally jonesing to do some real ink work.
